A synergy of fine Italian craftsmanship with casual, urban chic style, Redemption for Summer 2018 was one of my fave collections of the season.
Inspired by grunge and rebellion of the early nineties, Gabriele “Bebe” Moratti, Creative Director of Redemption, created a story of contrasts. Edgy and raw details such as ripped and embroidered denim and motorcycle boots were paired with luxe pieces such as tailored sequin blazers and sensuous lace-trimmed gowns. The looks pushed the boundaries of taking a more street, dressed-down aesthetic and uplifted them to be simultaneously sophisticated and elegant. Basically, knockout looks, and I want them all!
Below are my fave looks from the collection (particularly obsessed with the first two!):
Note the sandals with the sheer polka dot fabric and bow detail in contrast with the ripped boyfriend jeans. I can’t even…
This look started the runway show. Below it are some other fave looks…
This top is so gorgeous, can I get it for the holiday season?! 😉
The show notes described the Redemption woman as a “fierce individual”. Well, Summer ’18 was a fierce collection to complement that woman. The finale walk (top photo) looked like a military of chic or a squad of raw, urban cool style… Doesn’t matter which one, I’m in!
