During Paris Fashion week, I attended the Redemption Show for Summer 2019. Having gone to their show last year as well ( see my post ), I was particularly excited to view their collection. Creative Director, Bebe Moratti, has a style aesthetic for the Redemption woman that is in line with my own, and based on their previous shows I expected a beautiful mix of elegance, rawness and drama.
Inspired by “the operatic and densely baroque spirit of heavy metal”, Redemption for Summer 2019 was edgy and hard contrasted with sophisticated femininity. The show opened with a group of dancing ballerinas. As the models walked the runway, the ballerinas continued to dance while a mix of heavy metal and classical music pervaded the venue.
The looks were predominantly in black with metallic or crystal/silver detail. This seemingly severe color palette was softened with luxe fabrics, flowy draping and, most importantly, refined tailoring.
The Redemption woman is “a sophisticated image of rebellious elegance”. Their collection for Summer 2019 fulfilled this image, and the show did not disappoint my expectation!
Below are my fave looks from the Redemption show.
Loved the balance of detail for this look. The leopard print gathered into a body-con dress with feminine ruffles as well as a metallic waistband/belt was contrasted with a chic/masculine hat and cropped western boots to die for! In fact, I need to get some western/cowboy boots… right now! 🙂
There were so many looks that were my favorite that it was hard to choose just a few. Below are some more…
