OOTD + Shoes You Need Now, Part 1

Hi! Somehow it’s already mid-March, and I’m still wondering what happened to January and February! I don’t know about you, but this year (so far…) has been going by too fast for me. In part because we got a puppy over the holidays (yay!). I’ve been spending some extra time taking care of him and enjoying the puppy stage. But also just taking care of the more messy or more mundane parts of life like personal issues, home maintenance, blah, etc., and the time just seems to slip away. Well, I’m back now after an overall refocus of priorities. I’ll be posting more regularly here on the blog as well. It’s my birthday month, so I guess it’s like a new year for me…  I’m ready to move forward so join me! And of course, what better way to take a step forward, than with a great pair of shoes like the ones I’m wearing in these photos. Stylish and comfortable as well as versatile, these are shoes you need now. (Like the segue?)  😉

The Shoes

Right before NYFW last month, I passed by the Schutz store on Madison Ave on my way to the subway. Having already heard a lot of buzz about this brand and always on the lookout for a great quality shoe, I couldn’t resist taking a step inside.  Loved their fashion-forward shoe styles in a variety of heel heights. Most of all, I loved that the shoes are made to be comfortable at a price that is very reasonable for the quality. As you can imagine, window shopping quickly converted to actual shopping…

Since I was particularly looking for shoes to wear in the current season, these booties were the hands down winner. Versatile to be worn with pants/jeans or a skirt in colder or transitional weather, love them in sleek patent leather to dress up a more casual look. Also like that you can just wipe them when needed, shiny as new. 🙂 There’s a 2.4 inch block heel that’s just enough to lengthen your look, but low enough that they stay walkable. Best of all, they are comfortable as well as classic. Love them. Looking forward to wearing them into the spring and again next fall/winter.

 

The OOTD

This faux fur coat and this bag have been one of my fave outfit pieces this past winter. My only regret is that I didn’t have them sooner!

The coat is so warm and cuddly and reminds me of my puppy whenever I’m wearing it. 🙂 (Did I tell you that I’m dog obsessed?) Since it’s been gradually getting warmer (finally!), I probably only have a couple weeks left to wear it. But that’s ok since the neutral color and classic detail of toggle ties on the coat give it more of a timeless appeal. I’ll be looking forward to taking it out again in the fall! If you were considering getting a teddy coat, I’d recommend this one now as the price is reasonable as well!

The Gucci bag was a surprise Christmas gift and is probably my favorite of all my bags. First of all, metallic is a neutral in my book, and this one checks all the boxes of what I love about a bag. It’s bold in style, beautiful and well-made. Also, it’s very practical with it’s adjustable, lightweight cross-body strap, and the size fits a small umbrella as well as all my essentials for a day in the city or a date-night.
