Angel Sanchez for Spring 2016 took my breath away. In fact, it wasn’t just me as I heard gasps from show-goers seated to the left and right of me, especially when dress after gorgeous dress came down the runway.
The collection, which debuted at Skylight Moynihan Station during NYFW, was inspired by the Cayena Flower (aka the Hibiscus). With a vivid color palette of grass green, citrus yellow, mango, orange and fuchsia; Angel Sanchez created a series of looks that stayed true to his description of the collection: “Tropical Couture”. The fabrics such as gazar, jacquard and organza were luxurious, and were perfect to provide the right combination for structured yet fluid looks. Standout details of the looks were leather hand-cut flowers, and the utilization of illusion necklines or bodices which made the pieces appear to magically float or drape on the models as they walked.
Incorporating 50’s couture silhouettes, Angel Sanchez created pretty and elegant looks for Spring 2016 that were blended with just the right amount of drama to make them downright stunning.
The images in this post are some of my fave looks from the show. Enjoy!
