Held at The Dock at Skylight Moynihan Station for New York Fashion Week, the GEORGINE show for Spring/Summer 2016 revealed looks that stayed true to the GEORGINE woman as we have come to know her from previous collections. She was strong, confident, and seductively feminine.
Showing an influence of design elements from both the 60’s and 70’s, the collection played with the notion of challenging conventional ways of dressing by using unexpected fabrics in non-traditional colors and styles. Also, details such as cut-outs (see 1st pic below) on a conservative look, and edgy elbow length [fingerless] gloves added to this element of surprise.
The images in this post are what I considered were the standout looks of GEORGINE for SS16.
My favorite look from the collection: Love the intricate embellishment, and how the femininity of the dress contrasts the bright blue gloves.
Love the use of vibrant colors…
