The show notes for the Meskita FW’14 fashion show describes it as “a brand that encompasses the essence of all women: strong, glamourous, sexy, and confident”. And the collection (designed by Alessandra Meskita), which debuted on Feb 9th during New York Fashion Week (NYFW), clearly upheld this description! Inspired by the 1950’s and the Year of the Horse, the looks were a smart blend of feminine glamour and sportswear chic. Neoprene was a popular fabric of the collection and gave the looks a strong/protective element as well as making them appear more sleek and a bit edgy. In addition, many of the silhouettes were fitted and body conscious with an emphasis on the waist, often with a belt or corset. My favorite colors of the collection were winter white, mauve, peach and midnight blue.
Along with the clothes, I love how the models were styled with dip-dyed, sleek pony tails (horse reference), and leather finger gloves.

Below are my favorite looks from the Meskita collection:
I especially loved the bomber jacket theme in the looks. So cool and chic!
