Peplum: a short piece of fabric that is gathered, flared or pleated at the waist of a skirt, jacket or top.
Peplum was a big trend on the Spring ’12 runways and is still going strong for Fall ’12 and Resort ’13. Initially, I was put off by the peplum. It just seemed a little too girly and frilly for my style. But now, finally, I’m loving it! The peplum accentuates the waist where it is the smallest and provides some coverage where many/most? women would love to have some extra camouflage. 🙂 Although you may have to play around with different styles to find one that has the right proportions for your body type, I think it may be worth it! It’s a great combination of demure and sexy.

Peplum looked amazing on the runway… I’m convinced!
