Outfit Ideas for the Holidays + a Paris OOTD

Walking in the Flatiron, NY wearing Paris Fashion Week outfit for the Holidays

The week of Thanksgiving and it’s officially the holiday season! With all the yummy food opportunities, it’s a time to slow down and give thanks. This coming week is also a great time to score some Black Friday and Cyber Week deals as well as get ahead on any holiday-related shopping. I will be posting gift guides in the next few weeks, but now is a good time to plan holiday outfits and get them on sale if you can. The best items always sell out fast this time of year, so it helps to start your search as early as possible.

Outfit Ideas for the Holidays

Faux fur and similar types of whimsical or statement-making jackets are always a good bet to complement a holiday outfit, and this season they are particularly popular. Love how you can completely change an otherwise simple outfit with a bold jacket.

I wore the outfit in this post during Paris Fashion Week earlier this fall. This “tinsel” jacket which I bought at Century 21 right before the trip dressed up my look while keeping me warm! Best of all, it was marked down to less than $100. Currently sold out, but you should check out some of their other jackets like this one from by Rachel Roy and this one by Avec Les Filles.

A black dress is a closet must-have for any season. For the holidays, it can be a life saver. If it fits well and you feel confident in it, it’s worth the purchase as you can re-wear it multiple times by changing up the accessories and, or course, throwing on a fun jacket. 😉

Another option is a black skirt that can be paired with any top including ones already in your closet. The one I’m wearing in this post is, hand down, the best, most flattering skirt I have ever owned. Made of good quality with a fabric that is not too thin and has just the right amount of stretch, it is cut in a way that tapers perfectly. The layered pattern in the front makes it incredibly leg-lengthening. If there was only one piece that I could’ve added to my  wardrobe, it would have been this skirt.

Of course, another great way to elevate an outfit is with shoes and accessories. Bought these Stuart Weitzman sparkle boots last season which I am still totally obsessed with. They are no longer available, but below are some other options.
