Whether it’s in New York or Paris (haven’t attended LFW or MFW yet!), one of the things I love about attending fashion week is the opportunity to discover amazing new designers and brands. KÛR by Kasuni Rathnsauriya is one of these brands.
During NYFW this past week, I attended the KÛR show for Spring Summer ’19. Founded in 2009, this clothing line is not new but was new to me. For this season, the collection, referred to as “Compact Traveller”, represented a blend of professional and off-duty looks. Per the show notes, “From office to urban adventures, this is the ‘new way she travels’.”
The looks were a mix of structured and professional silhouettes which were softened with feminine details such as intricate lace, ruffles and/or gathering. The highlight of the collection was the gorgeous lace which is KÛR’s signature handmade Dutch and Portuguese lace. Also loved the powerful and striking use of clean whites to offset a minimal color palette of bold neutrals and shades of blue. This collection was modern, effortlessly pretty and wearable; 3 things I love to see in a collection! 🙂
