I had been avoiding Clinique cosmetics for most of my adult life since my early experiences with them were not so great. The colors didn’t work with my skin tone and the face lotions/foundations that I used made me break out. So when a Sephora make-up artist recommended I try Clinique’s Extreme Volume Mascara, I was skeptical. Also, I already had a favorite mascara.
A few years ago, I decided that I wanted (and needed…) to learn how to wear mascara. Based on recommendations from friends and make-up artists, I tried a bunch which I reviewed in two posts: SEARCH FOR THE PERFECT MASCARA… and SEARCH FOR THE PERFECT MASCARA…PART II. After these trials and several years later, my fave mascara without a doubt was and has been Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! mascara. In fact, I have been wearing this one everyday for daytime as well as special events… until now.
The Clinique high impact extreme volume mascara is fantastic and a new fave. It doesn’t clump, you can layer it on for a more dramatic look and it wears well throughout the day (no smudging!). I still love the one from Benefit Cosmetics, but (gasp!) I might like this Clinique one a little more. Seems to last throughout the day better and the long bristles/fuller brush help to create more volume.
