Nika Tang for Fall/Winter 2016 was part edgy and completely cool-girl chic. I loved everything about this collection.
With an abstract influence from the animation film Rango and a reference to architect Luis Barragan via ‘pops of unexpected rich burgundy and soft lilac’, Nika Tang masterfully mixed textures and prints and incorporated plays on volume to create looks that were strong yet still feminine.
Coats and jackets were a major element of the collection, and they were amazing. The proportion was often oversized and there was detail like fur (faux, but available in rabbit or fox) or other trim which helped give it a bolder, luxe look.
Another strong feature of Nika Tang for FW16 was the use of volume in the sleeves which btw, was a major trend on the runways for Fall. Whether it was a poet sleeve or bell sleeve, the look was on-trend while staying true to the collection.
There are certain collections that make your heart skip a beat, and for me, this was one of them.

The beautiful designer, Nika Tang, who so graciously (and patiently) posed for many pictures. (Thank you, Nika!)
From the Nika Tang A/W16 Lookbook, below are my fave looks. It was really hard to pick just these since I loved every single look, but these are the ones I want need to wear, right now. Especially love the white shirt with the ‘poet’ sleeves and the all black outfit(middle row, right) that would be perfect for a night out…
