L to R: Moschino Cheap & Chic(on sale!), Topshop
Maybe it’s a little holiday season withdrawal mixed with a general fondness of sparkle and shine. Whatever the reason, I’m ecstatic about the Metallics for Day trend that showed up on many designers’ runways for the Spring 2014 season. Of course, I’ve always been a fan of and worn metallics on occasion during the day myself, but I’m particularly looking forward to the availability of more versatile metallic clothing/accessory options.
One of my favorite metallic looks for daytime is wearing a metallic pencil skirt with a boyfriend cut oxford shirt (also on-trend for Spring 2014). The conservative silhouette of the pencil skirt tones down a bold, flashy metallic look and pairs well with a preppy style, casual top. Roll up the sleeves, keep the collar unbuttoned and you have a look that is both chic and effortless.
Add elegant pumps like the Gianvito Rossi’s or the sweetly feminine Jimmy Choos shown below, and the look is complete!
