NYFW – Romeo Hunte SS18

Romeo Hunte Presentation for NYFW SS18 on the Intrepid.

There are certain collections that make my heart skip a beat. Romeo Hunte for Spring/Summer 18 is one of them. Channeling his Brooklyn roots, designer and lifestyle brand, Romeo Hunte, created a collection for SS18 that was street-chic at its best. The looks were raw yet structured, and always strongly feminine. Essentially, cool-girl chic… love it.

A relatively new designer, Romeo Hunte is known for his outerwear. The outerwear pieces in this collection showed his creative ability to take traditional jacket styles like a trench coat or rain poncho, and re-work them. By adding various details, they became a new, more streetwear version of the classic. But this collection went beyond outerwear. There was a more cohesive look for the entire collection which gave you a better sense of the brand’s street-chic aesthetic and lifestyle vibe.

For New York Fashion Week, Romeo Hunte SS18 debuted on the Intrepid, an American military and maritime history museum. The venue was the perfect backdrop (intentional or not) for a collection featuring camouflage prints and rugged Timberland boots. The looks were all unique yet complementary (loved the door knocker earrings!) which made the designer’s ‘Brooklyn Army’ hashtag all the more meaningful.

Obsessed with the look below…
