Hi! Hope you all had a great 4th of July!! Not only is July 4th an important U.S. holiday that I love to celebrate, it’s also a final reminder that summer is in full swing whether I’m ready for it or not! Now is the time to finish getting ready for the season before it’s almost over. So let’s start with skin. That’s right… get summer skin ready!
When the warmer weather finally hits, I always imagine that I’ll step out in my bathing suit or other summer attire and show off sun-kissed skin. The reality is that I live in NY and spend a lot of time indoors. There is no summer glow going on. Well, at least no summer glow unless there is some artificial intervention like sunless tanner or bronzer.
There are so many sunless tanner or bronzer products to try, some great and some not so great. My recent faves are both from Tarte: Brazilliance PLUS+ Self Tanner and Better Bod Bronze and Contour. I tried both of these from this four-piece set.
All travel sizes, this set is perfect for the newbie or commitment-phobe as well as the summer glow obsessed who can not go on vacay without it!!
Brazilliance PLUS+ Self Tanner
The first sunless tanning product that I tried from Tarte was this one. I used it primarily on my legs since they are frustratingly several shades lighter than the rest of my body! On clean skin, I applied it with a mitt. It blended in easily (even without exfoliating before application) and I was done after a few minutes. There was no weird self-tanner scent and the color looked natural. Easy.
Better Bod Bronze and Contour
The Better Bod is a waterproof bronzer that is perfect to use for those times when you don’t have time for the self-tanner and need an instant sun-kissed look. Once you’re tried it and loved it, I’d recommend getting it in its full size packaging like this one since it comes with a mitt which makes applying the cream that much easier!
Haven’t tried the face towelette or face bronzer since I use my regular bronzer/blush make-up like this one and this one, but I’m sure that I’ll get to it soon!
